As a Law Enforcement Dispatcher for University of Wisconsin, you are the first trained point of contact in an emergency and help coordinate the response of law enforcement.
Law Enforcement Dispatcher Position Information
Hiring Bonus: $4,000
Starting hourly: $26-$30 an hour
- Night ($2.50/hr)
- Weekend ($2.00/hr)

UW Madison Police Department has developed a comprehensive hiring process to evaluate the knowledge, skills and abilities of prospective employees. Each position is unique and has different steps to assess candidates. All positions apply through the UW Jobs website. Job postings are generally open for approximately 4 weeks. Candidates must submit a cover letter and resume with their application.
Law Enforcement Dispatcher: Process will consist a phone interview, assessment center (writing assessment, team problem solving exercise, and role play scenario), and final interview. Candidates will experience a hiring and background investigation process that will take approximately 4 months.
All candidates who successfully complete all steps for their respective position will receive a conditional offer of employment and move to the background investigation stage. If the background investigation is deemed acceptable, the candidate will be given a final offer.
